4 Books on my Reading List

I have the strange tendency to swallow books whole or simply lose interest immediately. I think I can speak for many readers when I say that starting a book, let alone picking one, can be a challenging task to behold. However, once I conquer that first step towards my next literary adventure, there is no stopping me. This blog post will feature a few books that I am very keen on trying once I finish the book I am reading currently.

1. Crazy Rich Asians:

I’m sure this is one you’ve seen on every shelf, in every store and at every movie theatre. While some find overly popular books such as this one too “mainstream”, I tend to fly to the other end of the spectrum when I say it must be famous for a reason. From what I have heard, this book features a Chinese-American girl who goes home with her boyfriend to meet his family. Only then does she discover that he declined to mention how insanely rich his family is. Drama? Hell yes. Romance? Definitely. Will I read the book then run to the theatres? Yup.

2. Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them:

Again, a very popular read. With this book however, I have an ulterior motive. My plan is to quickly go through this one so I can read The Crimes of Grindelwald. The Harry Potter fan in me is dying to know what happens next, and so, as per hogwarts fashion, I am grabbing my broomstick and flying to the next book.

3. A Court of Thorns and Roses:

This book series is taking Youtube’s Booktubers by storm. Every channel seems to have at least one video where this book series is featured, and honestly, I’m not complaining. The synopsis of the book sounds fantastic. A young female huntress is torn away from her world and placed in the far more dangerous one of the Fae. There is absolutely nothing I love more than a badass female heroine as the leading protagonist and something tells me she will live up to her potential.

4. Circe

I am an absolutely HUGE fan of mythology in any form. I take any classes I can that pertain to the Ancient Greek and Ancient Roman worlds of gods and folklore. I have had my eye on this book for quite a while now and while it may be last on my list, it is first in my heart. Can’t have desert before dinner, right? This wonderful book presents the infamous goddess Circe with her own tale of romance and betrayal. Finally, the world gets to see the story of the women who grew strong after being abandoned on a deserted island.
